Date: 2005-08-04 11:11 pm (UTC)What a beautiful series of icons, and what a terrific idea! I really like this one. ^__^ I will have to go watch that community now. Ideas, ideas!
And a *lot* of time you spent on them. Wow. I'm seriously impressed -- and loving them all.
Can't wait to see the first of the alphabet too. ;D ("Big Ass Life Sucking Bug" - ROTFL!)

Date: 2005-08-07 10:54 pm (UTC)Oh, I love the finished set. Love them, love them! Very beautiful!
I was vaguely considering joining the alphabet challenge myself because it seems like a lot of fun, but there's absolutely NO WAY I could every do such an awesome job as these.
Atlantis is gorgous, the Big Bug is also remarkably pretty (for it's subject - it's a shiny bug!), I'm glad you used a happy Ford for his pic, the more I look at Ocean, the more I like it (I liked it originally, and I'm still liking it muchly now too). All of them. {happy sigh}
One thing -- you used 'invaders' instead of 'intruders' but didn't change the label. ;D

Date: 2005-08-08 05:25 am (UTC)BTW - was reading over the list rules, and it says when done to post at this link" but I don't see anybody except the July challenges who did so (so don't know if they are different for August and haven't updated yet). Date: 2005-08-09 11:15 am (UTC)They're great, they really look like a set. I love the colors, I'm a total sucker for *bright* and saturated.
I think I like A and B best of the second batch.

Date: 2005-08-09 02:07 pm (UTC)Thanks! I'm kinda partial to the colouring on A & B, too :D I was just trying different things on A, and hit the perfect combination, and now have no clue what I did :D On B, I put a colour texture over the whole thing, erased the parts over Shep's face, then selected the entire bug itself, copied the bug and the texture layers, and pasted them over the whole thing again in... overlay, I think, then desaturated the original layer about 70%. I was really pleased with that one :)

Date: 2005-08-09 02:21 pm (UTC)Heeee. :) That's actually the kind of thinking that I consider the writers capable of. Nice thought. Thanks for the explanation of Norse stuff, I have no clue when it comes to those classic tales.
and now have no clue what I did :D
Oh my, I know exactly what you mean! It happens to me all the time. That icon has this *dreamy* feeling, really gorgeous. One of a kind. ;)
I put a colour texture over the whole thing, erased the parts over Shep's face
See, I knew that. :) My "W" icon uses the same image, and I distinctly remember the bug being red and blue. I thought, wow, she really improved the bug by making it glowy green!
And honestly, your bug icon is so much better than mine! The cropping alone is much better, as is the coloring. I'm thinking I'll have to make an alternate of mine to improve it.
